What Is Indian Cuisine?
-by Alex Pupkin-
What is Indian cuisine? This is a loaded question. For starters, India is a massive country with diverse culinary styles. Featuring a variety of climates, soil types, and livelihoods, food in India differs significantly based on the availability of spices, herbs, vegetables, and fruits. In fact, Indian food is also heavily influenced by local customs, religious practices, and cultural factors.

The Cheesecake Factory Is High On Taste, Low On Presentation
-by S.D Allen-
I recently enjoyed lunch at The Cheesecake Factory behind the Quakerbridge Mall in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. I'll have to say, I was disappointed with the appearance of the restaurant, but pleased with the food, service and pricing. It's not a bad place for couples to eat as nice meal for $30, but there are some glaring issues that might be turn offs for other customers.

Fine Dining In Algiers Offers Variety, Luxury, And Economy
-by Francesca Salerno-
Algiers, the capital city of Algeria, offers many excellent restaurants. Many residents and tourists in Algiers might head to the venerable Hotel El-Djazair for an evening of the very finest traditional Algerian food, and they would be happy with their choice. And yet there are a number of less well-known eateries in Algiers that are newer, fresher, and offer evolving renditions of the traditional North African stables of lamb, fish, and chicken by culinary artists who are just reaching the peak of their craft.

Maggiano's Little Italy Is Fantastico!
-by S.D Allen-
I recently celebrated my birthday and was searching for a family friendly restaurant where my wife and our two boys could enjoy a nice, relaxing dinner. We settled on Maggiano's Little Italy. We had never eaten at this particular restaurant. I heard good reviews from a friend, and after eating there myself, I have to say he knew what he was talking about. The food was delicious, the service was terrific, the restaurant was clean, and the price, for what we ordered, was very reasonable. I don't speak Italian, but I am familiar with the word "fantastico", and that describes Maggiano's perfectly.

"Chez Slah" Joins The Ranks Of North Africa's Best Restaurants
-by Francesca Salerno-
Tunisians love to eat and a directory of restaurants in Tunis alone would fill a substantial book. I asked some of my Tunisian friends, recently, and some frequent American visitors to Tunisia, if we could agree on the best restaurant in Tunis. Of course, we could not agree, but I was not at all surprised at how many votes (there were more than 20) picked Chez Slah, a wonderful eatery hidden away down a tiny side street at 14 bis, rue Pierre de Coubertin near the exact center of town. You'll probably need a good driver to find it. Like most high-end North African cuisine, the cooking at Chez Slah has deep French roots and focuses mainly on seafood and simply prepared poultry and lamb dishes, but what sets Chez Slah apart is the fastidious care with which the chef personally selects fish at waterfront markets every day. This is an art, and to do it well takes experience and great skill.

Dining In The Foothills Of The Atlas Mountains In Morocco
-by Francesca Salerno-
In the environs of Marrakech there is one particular restaurant made famous by Sir Richard Branson that is so unique that I think it is worth a special visit, an escape into the countryside outside of Marrakech, going south into the great Atlas Mountains to a very special hilltop where Sir Richard has spruced up Kasbah Tamadot since buying it nearly more than a dozen years ago when he first set eyes on the castle-like resort from high above the earth in one of his famous balloon trips across North Africa. That was back in 1998. The resort reopened five or six years later as part of Branson's Virgin Airlines franchise. Sir Richard obviously loves this place, as it seems to get better and better every year, clearly the recipient of his personal attention and affection.
